CCTV means “closed-circuit television” and is commonly known as a video surveillance technology. “Closed-circuit” means broadcasts are limited (closed) to a selected group of monitors, unlike “regular” TV, which can be received and viewed by whoever sets up a reception device.
In addition, CCTV cameras are instrumental in preventing burglaries, home invasions, and robberies. They also deter internal theft and prevent employee stealing. The visual evidence provided by CCTV footage is valuable in solving crimes and increasing the chances of catching the perpetrators.
